WHY THE SHAPE CLOSES ON THE ROOT

The first and sixth strings sit exactly two octaves apart — 24 semitones. That is not a coincidence or a convenience: it is what standard tuning adds up to, four fourths and one major third.

The consequence is visible on the grid. The same fret on the thinnest string gives the same note as on the thickest, two octaves higher, so an arpeggio from the root at fret 5 ends on the root at fret 5. The position covers 24 semitones — exactly two octaves, and no other string count does that.

Minor is not a separate shape either: the run is the same one, with only the third dropping a semitone. One of the two thirds simply steps back a fret on its own string; the other would land on the first fret, outside the position, so the same note is taken on the neighbouring string instead. Nothing else moves at all.

  • The filled dot is the root and the figure inside each dot is the degree of the triad. The dots are calculated from standard tuning; the sheet prescribes no left-hand fingering.
  • Colour carries meaning, but meaning never rests on colour alone — the sheet reads in black and white.
  • Nothing about how it was made: the sheet carries only what the reader needs.

Printing

  • Three sizes in the archive: A4 — 210×297 mm, A3 — 297×420 mm, A2 — 420×594 mm.
  • All text is converted to outlines. No fonts to install, and nothing shifts on another machine.
  • White background and sparing fills — it prints on a home printer without draining the cartridge.
  • Margins of at least 10 mm: a home printer cannot print to the edge.
  • No stroke thinner than 0.3 mm, so nothing disappears in print.

Why the numbers can be trusted. Every countable number here is computed from data rather than typed in, and the sheet must pass 12 independent checks before it is allowed to build — how many items there are, the order they come in, and the claim in the highlighted box itself. If one fails, there is no file.
