HTTP METHODS · 2026
ten methods per RFC 9110, 5789 and 10008: which are safe, which are idempotent, which can be retried
Built as a memo rather than a table: the thing worth hanging it up for reads across the room, with the full reference in smaller type below it.
Three sizes in one archive — from a sheet on the fridge to a poster on the wall.
Methods, descriptions and properties follow RFC 9110 «HTTP Semantics» (IETF, 2022), Table 4 and §9.2; PATCH follows RFC 5789 (2010); QUERY follows RFC 10008 (2026). A server is required to support only GET and HEAD; every other method is optional (RFC 9110 §9.1).
