THE SHARE IN THE SALT AND THE SHARE TAKEN UP ARE TWO DIFFERENT NUMBERS

Magnesium oxide holds more magnesium than any other form on this sheet: 60.30 % of its own mass, and that follows straight from MgO and the atomic weights. On the box it is the largest number on the shelf.

Firoz and Graber (Magnesium Research, 2001) measured the absorption of four preparations by the increment of 24-hour urinary magnesium and put the oxide at 4 %; chloride, lactate and aspartate came out higher than it and equal to one another.

Yet those 4 % are not a property of the oxide either, but the result of one method in one group: Schuette and colleagues (JPEN, 1994) measured the same oxide with a labelled isotope in patients after bowel resection and got 22.8 %. The two numbers answer two different questions, and the box prints neither.

Why the numbers can be trusted. Every countable number here is computed from data rather than typed in, and the sheet must pass 7 independent checks before it is allowed to build — how many items there are, the order they come in, and the claim in the highlighted box itself. If one fails, there is no file.
